That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, we have word that The Big Lebowski will finally, at long, long last, be receiving a proper Blu-ray release this summer, after withstanding hunger strikes from Achievers all around the globe. The release, from the hands of Universal Studios Home Entertainment, should arrive on August 16, 2011. Blu-ray.com has the scoop on the release, which looks to entail a collector’s-book-style packaging, filled with memorable quotes from the Coen Brothers’ landmark of comedic cinema that went from theatrical flop to one of the most revered cult icons in movie history. Nothing else is currently known about the release, but at least it looks as though it is finally on the way.
